PERFECT for any Bride to Be!

I've been engaged for about a year now and I have recently begun the long process of planning my Big Day. I have never planned a wedding before, so I didn't have a clue as to where to begin or what pointers I needed to know. After purchasing David Tutera's new book, Big White Book of Weddings, I read right through it and became CONFIDENT in how to prepare for my wedding day. His book was EXTREMELY helpful and definately lessened my stress. He touched on everything that crosses a brides mind, from fashion to balancing every vendor on the right scale....and most importantly BUDGETING! I didn't know the first thing in how to budget what for my wedding, and this book really puts it into perspective! It's humorous and informative...a must have for ANY Bride...budget or no budget! I swear by it!

The Best How-To Yet!

OMG! I was so excited when I got this book. I ripped it out the package, flipped through it and to my dismay there were no pictures! I didnt realize the type of book this was, I only saw David Tutera and had to have it! Much to my suprise though, this was an EXCELLENT and VERY HELPFUL book. I could not put it down. The book was EASY TO READ and I felt like David was TALKING DIRECTLY to me. It was as if I were on his show My Fair Wedding(only before all the bad decor and decision-making.) My fiance' and I are planning a May 2012 wedding and I wanted to have as much time as possible to plan the wedding of our dreams without breaking the bank. I know I will reference this book many, many times over the next two years. Good luck to all you brides out there and you simply MUST read this book!

Amazing Wedding Planning Book

I could not wait to go out and get this book! I am an upcoming bride and obsessed with David Tutera. I bought the book last night and already finished it and highlighted all the fabulous points. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the wedding planning industry and or an upcoming bride.

Savvy, Stylish Wedding Guide!

Unlike other wedding planning books, this one is actually a FUN read as opposed to an educational tool. It is sassy, savvy and witty! The content covers everything from fashion to timelines to vendors and presents it in a very personal, and approachable way. My favorite quality of this book is that I really feel like David is speaking to ME, and it is full of his personality and expert opinions, not a dry regurgitation of the same rules of planning and etiquette that we all already know. I highly recommend this to any future bride, or bridesmaid or mother of the bride looking for a very helpful gift for the bride-to-be!

EXCELLENT AND QUICK READ!

As an upcoming bride, I've had mixed feelings about the importance of a wedding planner vs the price of the planner and have read over a dozen wedding planning guides/etiquette books in the past year. Simultaneously, I have begun following David Tutera's work as a celebrity wedding planner and his first two seasons of My Fair Wedding on WEtv. Needless to say, when this book hit the shelves I was running to purchase it! David does an excellent job of keeping the book lighthearted, amusing and very personal. It feels as though he he's talking to you in his office (or at the spa over mani-pedis). The chronology which the book follows is an excellent approach to planning likely the BIGGEST PARTY of you life. He doesn't overkill some subjects while jumping over others with too little details. He touches on everything from wedding registry do's and don'ts to the moment you are departing your reception and the important reminders of the purpose of the event and all of the planning. I especially appreciate his approach to handling funding/finances and budgets. Although he is a CELEBRITY wedding planner I found his sensitivity to financing your wedding especially tactical. He uses an appropriately suited budget allocation method to assist the bride/groom with determining how best to allocate your funds and offers insides on ways to save in order to splurge on other elements of your wedding. This was a huge BONUS! The only regret I had in reading this book was that I didnt have it the day after I got engaged (Feb 2009), however having it with a little less than a year to go, was excellent timing all the same. The pre-planning advice David offers at the start of the book is invaluable. Even if you are a bride who doesn't believe in wedding planners, the insight he offers throughout the book is one that can be applied to the most casual/informal wedding to the most PLATINUM/STAR STUDDED event of a lifetime. I would highly recommend this book as an engagement gift or reference material for a bride-to-be.
