The Big Pile of Dirt may be better suited for adult readers than children readers. The story is about the hopes and imaginations of a group of children living in the inner city. They have to make do with the limited circumstances of their childhood, but they can explore their true inner natures. Then the adults come along and change things in the way they expect children to behave. It was better before, when they were free to be themselves. Everyone should read this book to find out what childhood is really about.
