I picked this up at the library and took it home for my (almost 4 yr old) niece not knowing what she would think. I thought nursery rhymes type stuff should at least grab her attention if not keep it always. It did more than grab her attention. It kept it as well. Even before she could remember the name of the book, she was requesting it. When the 21 day loan period was up she didn't want me to take it back so I had to renew it. The first time I read it to her, she had great fun with the counting game acting out the parts as I read. She and her baby brother were 'running amuck' in my room just from the counting game, I couldn't believe a book could do all this. It's still her favorite thing to do but she also loves the instrument rhyme poem (and almost knows it by heart already) and all the other little rhymes and it's even more fun when she recognizes one of the nursury rhymes that she heard from her cd with nursery rhymes in songs or from somewhere else. This book has the right combination of pictures and words, rhymes and short poems that will capture any toddler's imagination.
