Excellent tool for learning!

As an ordained minister, I have used this with several groups. It is easy to lead, very clear, and has been received very well by students(I've taught adults with it, but it would likely work well with teens). Each participant needs a copy of the book, but it is reasonably priced. Leader instructions are included in the book. This has been a good study for newcomers to the Bible as well as seasoned readers. Donald Griggs is truly an educator for educators.

good little book

The Bible from Scratch was recommended to us by the pastor of another church who began a small group study using it as the text and was very pleased at reactions to the book; so we've begun a small group and are very satisfied. It is non-threatening for folks who have no special background in reading or studying the Bible and doesn't come on "too strong" or too demanding. We started with the Old Testament and hope to continue on with the new Testament volumn.

The Bible from Scratch, OT

We used this book in a beginning bible study. It is a quick sweeping overview, leaving the students with a desire to learn more and dive deeper in future studies. The leader guide was helpful but followed the same predictable pattern each week. I modified slightly to emphasis certain areas while leading this class, and to offer a change of pace. Griggs does an awesome job pulling out the general overview of each book, while giving some theological viewpoints. I would recommend this study.
