Such a lovely book with careful writing and good explanations. Far too many children's Bibles suffer from 1960's graphics, or worse, "the New Revised Standard Version Children's Bible- NRSV Noah's Ark Cover Flintstones go to Palestine"; these are somewhat in the style of Tomie de Paola meets Sempe. God is called God, and pronouns for God are avoided (not too awkwardly). The vocabulary is will require some explaining (how many kids say 'disconsolate?' )but will give the child something to reach toward. My favorite children's story Bible (and I work in a Bible Society).
A wonderful child's Bible

This Bible is very well written and very clear. It is a great overview of both the Old and New Testament. I bought it to read to my four year old over the years, and my older child (9) enjoys it too. It is also a nice Bible for adults to enjoy because it is so clear and conscise. These stories are a great way to get Biblical history without getting mired down in names and lists. I would recommend it to anyone who wants Biblical stories and history.
