I was also a student of the author and agree with the previous reviewer. Profound insights on the direction that university education has taken in North America. Highly recommended.

It has been some time since I read this book. I would like just like to say that I was a student of the author, that I have read this book and that I can recommend not only this book, but also the other books written by the author. Anyone with an interest in this subject area would benefit from knowing the insights of the author. It is an intellectually 'tight' distillation of centuries of thought into a readable, digestable piece of work. Having known the author, I can vouch that his own personality percolates through through the work. I intend to re-read it. Soon. With fond memories.
