I found this book to be extremely useful in that in provides a listing of top specialists (and their sub-specialties) by city within the Midwest Region. And, I've actually used some of the doctors listed in the book and found them to be extremely good. Given the value of this book, most of my neighbors have borrowed it at one time or another. Only problem with this book is that it needs to be updated to 2004.I found this book far better for regular use than "Best Doctors in America" since it reports top specialists by city rather than by region, so you don't need to travel far to see one of these doctors. However, if you do have a very specialized and serious condition and were willing to travel, then "Americas Top Doctors" would be a good choice.
