Great great history!

Well researched, well written and takes you into the Civil War. You'll meet the all black unit that played a huge part in this bloody, dirty, hard battle and a former slave, Garland White, a real person, who was an officer and chaplain in the Union Army. It was a bloody battle in a bloody war. You will go thru the many hard decisions and the struggles Lincoln experienced as he maneuvered the country thru division and a war to end slavery in the South. I'd also recommend further study into the life of Garland White who left the safety he'd found in Canada to fight for freedom & his fellow man. This book has not a dull moment, I don't want to spoil by saying more except it is extraordinary how Pennsylvania coal miners skills were used to infiltrate the underbelly of the Confederate stronghold. Its a book you will contemplate long after reading.
