One of the best books I have ever read. I enjoyed it.

Wonderful, Must Read

Engaging and well written read on the history of education and how it has gotten to the state that it is currently in. Anyone who has spent time in a public school (read government school) in the past 10-15 years will not be able to deny that the students are out of control, bored, and frankly wasting most of their time. Test scores, literacy rates, etc. all show this and the numbers don't lie, American schools are largely failing and a national disgrace despite the billions spent annually on them. I took a quick read through the negative reviews, seems most didn't even read the book which should be telling. As the author explains in the book-- true tolerance is being able to engage with any idea without having to adopt that idea, yet they are not able to even engage with this book. Obviously, they are the products of typical government schools. Thus they further prove the author's point without even knowing it!

I am sure the bad reviews are from people who didn't read the book.

This is a great book that shows how progressivism has taken over the school system.

Eye opening

Very much enjoyed reading this book. An eye opening look at the leftist, progressive's infiltration of the American education system, the results of which we are seeing in the decay of society today. Although I didn't realise this was a book extolling the virtues of a classical christian education when I picked it up, I came away confident and encouraged in my decision a year ago to remove my kids from public school and homeschool them using classical christian methods.
