A Delightful Basket

When I began this book, I mistook it as a child's story. As I read further, it dawned on me how the author had skillfully drawn me in to see how he revealed the nature of man and the sweet humility of those truly saved by the grace of Holy God. Suffering for loved ones and the eternal rewards that brings were described in terms that will stick with the reader for years. Both of my grown children get a copy of this as I know it will be a blessing to all who read it.

Inspirational and Eye Opening

I found this book on the library shelf. It caught my eye because it was small and old looking. (I like vintage things) The first chapter into this book I instantly knew it was going to be one of my few favorites! This tale is about a father teaching his daughter about her Heavenly Father. I am seventeen and found this book as intriguing as my favorite classic Pride and Prejudice. What this book has to offer is character building, and a learning passion for the Lord our Father in Heaven, who always hears our prayers and cares for us far beyond our understanding!

A book to read again and again

We accepted a challenge to turn off the TV and read as a family and this book was recommended to us. What a delight! This book explores a Godly example of a young woman facing many problems - life is not fair, maintaining purity and truth in the face of overwhelming circumstances, being Godly in an unGodly world. Our kids (8 and 4) loved the book and we plan to read it again and again.

A Basket of Flowers

This is a sweet story for all to read. Mary and her father walk a life we all should strive to achieve. An excellent book for older children to gleen determination, faith, and patience without bitterness.

Excellent story about a girl who was unjustly accused!

This is the touching story of a young girl and her father. Originally written by a french author, and later translated into english, this is a book that is sure to be passed down from generation to generation. I am 12 years old and my mother just recently purchased this book for me. I wish every girl could have a copy of this book! Also recommended: The Elsie Dinsmore Series, any books by Martha Finley, any books by Oliver Optic, C.H. Pearson, or Horatio Alger Jr.Please, if you want your daughter to read wholesome, enjoyable, thought-provoking, and character building books I suggest you purchase A Basket of Flowers immediately!
