I picked this book up at 8:P.M. and didn't put it down until the early hours of the morning when I finished reading it. Did you ever wonder what it was like to be the son of a star of Yul Brynner's magnitude and sheer physical beauty? In this book, Rock Brynner has written a novel based on his life as Yul Brynner's son. He makes it abundantly clear that being the child of a "star" may be filled with privileges but the down side is the struggle to become a worthwhile human being in your own right. It was not an easy job. I found this book both hilariously funny at times and overwhelmingly sad almost at the same time. It is thought provoking, perplexing and one of the best books I have ever read.
a wildly funny and anarchic odyssey through the sixties

This is Brynners semi-autobiographical account of his life from 19 to 30. I don't know how much is fact and how much fantasy, but it is wonderful reading. Brynner tells the story of his drunken wanderings across the world and of the strange and unusual people he encountered on his quest for a self-image.
