The story length annoying noise that has an impossible to piece together story imbetween. Awful

The story is fine but there is a hyperventilating sound that you are suppose to read that makes it hard to breathe. Its over done and the kids werent really into it. If you like annoying noise dominant stories than here ya go. I just wanted something with more substance and this book fell short and between the long skeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee lba aba a ababbabababababa a babab!aaaaaaaa the story was lost. Definitely not reflective to the talented writer maybe this was forced work? Anyway look at some other books in the catalog by the writer you will be blissfully happy. Dont say you werent made aware, because i warned you.

Best for Preschoolers

This book is best for 2-4 year olds. But maybe for all ages but those are the ages of the children in my room. If you can get ahold of the tape story of this, do it! My students have to listen to this book at least 2-3 times a week and would love it if I read it over and over again, but the singing of the bird in the tape story is awesome. I wish I had the tape of it (it was at an old day care). It helps children learn about bedtimes, animal sounds, and just a fun book.

my son sang this until I had to find the book!

My son was introduced to this book in speech therapy, to help the youngsters with the "b" sounds. When it came time to pick the children up, they were all laughing and singing the song of the beebee bird. For weeks after, my son would sing this song until my younger one started singing it, too. I had to check it out of the library and now buy it because they like it so much. I've never seen the earlier version of this book, so I'm quite happy with this one :)

Funny for the whole family

This book is funny in a way the whole family can relate to. Parents and siblings who have been kept awake by a baby will especially enjoy the comic view of their predicament. Those who do the waking will enjoy the baby bird's expressing their viewpoint. The artwork is great at showing the exhausted and irascible animals who are kept awake by the cheerful baby bird. The typesetting is very clever, too.

I've loved this book for 40 years

I still remember the librarian reading this book to us in first grade. I remembered it when my children were born but, alas, couldn't find it in print any longer. So I got it out of the library and photocopied the whole thing (horrors!). My kids loved that black-and-white version so much that, now that I'm a grandmother, my son wants it to read to his own son. Thank God it's going to be republished! This is probaby the only book that our entire family has loved for so long. It is delightful and funny and warm. And it appeals to everyone because nobody gets to escape the problems that the kid with the mixed-up sleep schedule poses. I am still known to roar "Beebee bobby!" like a lion!

My Nine-month old daughter loves this book!

I found an old copy of this book in my Mom's attic and I'm glad it's being re-published. It's a great children's book about a bird that makes noise at night at the zoo and the animals don't like it. Not only does it have lots of funny animal noises to make (which my daughter loves) but its message is about sleeping at night and staying awake during the day. (If only it were that easy!)
