Innaccurate 'facts' make poor initial impression

I started reading this book full of anticipation - being passionately involved with both golf and with rugby football from the age of seven years - the ridiculous remarks about the shirt number "88" as worn by some 'rugger' in Scotland in the 1940's leads me to question the author's knowledge of either sport.......

wonderful book

an interesting story with some history, some golf and wonderful characters. a very enjoyable book.
