James Bond/Angels & Demon Type Thriller

A 2009 fictional thriller by the New York Times best selling author of "The Atlantis Prophesy" and "Raising Atlantis," I found myself hooked from the very beginning. The book is very well written. It grabbed my attention immediately and held it through until the end. The story begins with our hero, archaeologist stud-muffin Conrad Yeats, and a Greek crew on a fishing boat. They are in search of a relic from the lost continent of Atlantis on a Nazi submarine sunken 3 miles into the depths of the Mediterranean. Yeats unexpectedly finds more than he bargains for when he finds the Flammenschwert and is soon confronted and attacked by Sir Roman Midaslovich "Midas," a Russian so filthy rich he can give his girlfriend, Mercedes LeRoche, a million dollar bracelet as a trinket. We soon meet the beautiful and intelligent Serena Serghetti, a Vatican linguist, who is head of the Dominus Dei, and a former love of Professor Yeats, although they never quite got it on. The Alignment is an international organization said to be Atlantean decendents who will stop at nothing, even global Armageddon, to establish a new world order. Power groups like the infamous Bilderbergers are woven into the power struggle. Professor Yeats' father was a Bilderberger, so he is known in the circle. Interwoven historical information provides a welcome familiarity for mind assimilation. Mention of the Freemasons, Knights Templar, Stonehenge, the Kabala and other names you have likely read about add to the familiarity. Thriller, action, espionage, good guys vs. bad guys, blow-up-the-world kinda stuff, assassins around every corner, you are never quite sure which side someone is on. People are hunted and sometimes killed all over the globe, cover-ups are everwhere. Something like a James Bond type story, the characters span the globe from Washington, DC, to Gstaad, Switzerland, Rome, Paris, and London, and many other places. (Note that if the diving survival was B.S., I wouldn't recognize it anyway so it didn't matter. I read for the enjoyment of reading, not to analyze the story for flaws. Heck, James Bond is B.S. too, but I still love the stories.) I thought this book was excellent! It was pretty much non-stop adventure. It was similar to James Bond and Angels & Demons storyline. It held me captive so much so that I woke up on Columbus Day at 4 a.m. (a day off for me) and was compelled to read the last 47 pages! (I don't normally do that.) I tried to go back to sleep but the mind said, "I'll have none of that!--Gotta finish." I loved it and would certainly highly recommend it.

Another entertaining addition to the religio-historical thriller genre

There are many novels similar to this on the market today and a great deal of them are actually quite readable, not at all implausible, except for the most rigid pedants and fundaments, and certainly entertaining. This one is no less so; the characters remind in many ways of Dan Brown's couple-team, and yet Conrad and Serena seem to be their own people and are developed carefully and well. There are sufficient twists and turns in the plot to keep even the most inured thriller reader turning the pages. There also are a b'zillion books dealing with the Atlantis lore; this takes a fresh look and then does some lovely and fun creative imagination magic with it. The result is a fine reading experience. A not-to-miss for fans of the genre and a pleasant diversion for any thriller diller liker.

A revealing thriller

The Atlantis Revelation is the third book in a series. Don't worry though, the story is told in a way that it can stand alone. I would recomend reading the first two. The story is a rip snorting cliffhanger ride. One part Indiana Jones, one part National Treasure and one part DaVinci Code shaken well and served well. The pace builds to a snapping beat. Good and interesting characters populate the pages. An evil organization, the Alignment, is attempting to use ancient technology from Atlantis to change the world. Can an archeologist and a nun stop the evil? This is a well written work and was a lot of fun. If you like the genre of old conspiracies affecting the future, you will like this. If you like a good cracking action story, you will like this. Give it a try

action-packed page-turner adventure story

The story of Atlantis is fascinating, so I thought this book by Thomas Greanias might reveal some great theory about it's demise. I was hoping there would be more speculation/story about what role a lost Nazi submarine would play in reference to Atlantis. (Have not read the other 2 books.) I was slightly disappointed with the content describing both, but the exciting story made up for this failing. I found "The Atlantis Revelation" a fast-paced reading adventure, both gripping and intriguing, and with lots of unbelievably harrowing escapes! I found myself holding my breath while reading about our hero Conrad Yeat's escape, from the doomed Nazi submarine perched on the edge of an underwater cliff...how could he hold HIS breath that long? The man must be Superman! He manages to escape every predicament that presents itself, even when injured...what a guy!!! His girlfriend Sister Serena Serghetti, a Vatican linguist, has her own agenda that doesn't always mesh with his agenda (trust issue)....but somehow they are drawn to each other, and to the same adventures...be it through the Catholic church or the US Government/Military. The story bounces around the globe but mostly takes place around Greece, Switzerland, and Israel, and involves an international secret organization, and world domination by a very nasty fellow. The quickly read story is a far-fetched James Bond type adventure that holds the reader's attention...beginning to end. Could not put it down!!!

JAMES BOND MEETS INDIANA JONES IN ISRAEL

FAST PACED AND ENJOYABLE READ WITH ONE CAVEAT. THIS IS NOT HISTORY. HOWEVER, THE AUTHOR HAS SCOURED THE KNOWN MATERIAL ON ATLANTIS AND HITLERS OBSESSION WITH THE OCCULT. That being said it was a real page turner that put the supporting role (a female) in a good light and ending. Unlike DaVinci's code which paints the Roman Catholic Church as the greatest evil since Satan, this book takes a positive stance on the role of the Good in Religions who have a sincere commitmment to change and healing our tired nearly lifeless Earth. The places where most of the action took place like Corfu and Israel to name a few are steeped in enough legend without the bible to fill any creative writers imagination and it did so for this author. How much it actually has to do with the lost continent of Atlantis or ancient Greece and mesopotamia becomes less and less important as the undercurrent of attraction between the two main characters becomes the real story with saving the whole world and mankind the canvas against which this takes place. The plot has your evil, no remorse or nuance, former Russian criminal, Midas no less, your beautiful but no touch "sister" and of course the gruff government official with a wink and nod and a twinkle in the eye. All and all a good fast light work that aims to entertain and does so with panache.
