This is an older albeit extremely well written and arranged description of many of the fine works of art in the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am a big fan of this museum and stop there any time I get in the area. There is a newer HC book out called "Treasures of the Gilcrease Museum" that would make a good companion to this one. If you like true western art by Remington, Russell, and others as well as solid representations of all periods of American art from pre-Columbian through the Twentieth Century a visit to the Gilcrease is worth a day or more of your time but if you can't get there, enjoy viewing these works from your armchair.
