A wealth of information. 1999 The Arrl Handbook for Radio Amateurs
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 14 years ago
Although eleven years old, "1999 The Arrl Handbook for Radio Amateurs", this book is a wealth of information. FCC rules and regulations are probably behind times, but the theory is first rate. Brought back some things I learned in Electricians Mate School [Navy] in the 40's like THE PIE formula. If you are thinking about amateur radio, this is your book; the price is right. You can get the rules off the net. 2000 pages, big and heavy. You won't be sorry. Gordon von Miller, KD5SVY
The ARRL Handbook for Radio Communication

This is a comprehensive technical data book for amateur radio operators. It covers all aspects of radio and electronics for the amateur operator. It could be refered to as the bible for electronics and radio operation. I find it a rapid and easy to use reference for all of my questions concerning radio operation and electronics in general.
The bible for Hams or short wave radio enthusiasts

The ARRL HANDBOOK is an essential addition to every Ham's library. The book is continually updated, but is almost as useful as a few-year-old second hand book. A super CD with everything in the book plus other goodies is included in the later versions. My last ARRL HANDBOOK was a 1952 edition! Wow what a change in the world of radio since then. No more scrounging for WWII surplus radios, etc. The latest techniques in use by Hams is found here, as are numerous U-build-it examples. This book is essential reading for every radio enthusiast from Novice to Expert, Technician to Designer. Charles
