"The Apostles" by Gene Getz describes the original 12 disciples, Matthias, and Paul and how Jesus Christ was able to take such a diverse group of men and mold them into men who would take the gospel to the known world. Getz describes the characteristics of each man, his shortcomings, and how his life (with the exception of Judas Isariot) was changed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The title is another in the "Men of Character" series by Getz and is an enjoyable read. Recommended.
Great Way to Learn About The Men Who Knew Jesus Best

I thought that this book was great. It is so easy to read through the Gospels and not really grasp the fact that these apostles walked and talked with Jesus! By the end of the book, I had picked my favorites because I could relate to so many of their weaknesses. This book proves that all of us need a lot of work, but with God all things are possible.
