THE AMERICAN WING by Marshall B. Davidson and Elizabeth Stillinger, 1985, is a very good presentation of that portion of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, at the time. Of the period rooms, the Frank Lloyd Wright room from the Francis W. Little house and the Rococo Revival room that showcases the John Henry Belter parlor suite are shown, but those that have been added later are, of course, not included; some of the furniture already in the collection is shown however. The American Wing of the M.M.A. has a very extensive collection so this book is a good reference for all those interested in American decorative arts and fine arts, as scupture and paintings are also included. No doubt a more up-to-date book in terms of being comprehensive and coordinating with the current exhibitions has been since published, but this book is still valid in general terms, especially at this bargain price.
