BEING BOTHERED BY AMAZON

GOOD BOOK. DELIVERED ON TIME. PRICE WAS RIGHT. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO SAY

Good read.

I picked this book up because I have an interest in gemology and precious pieces of art that center around jewels/stones. The Amber Room was one of those rare pieces of art that graced the world and simply disappeared. The subject alone is worth reading the book. Who doesn't want to read about "buried treasure?" This book catches the interest of the reader immediately. Part investigative journalism, history and detection, it gives you a glimpse of a world during the Second World War in countries such as Russia, Germany and Poland. As a person with little knowledge of the subject I found it competely engrossing! This book can rival any fiction book. Definitely pick it up! I am going to read the earlier work written by these authors which centers around Imperial Jade.

Better than any fiction novel you'll ever read.

Who needs fiction when hisory can give us stories like this! The Amber room was in the Catherine Palace in Pushkin, outside of Leningrad (today's St. Petersburg). The room was lined with amber panels that Frederick I of Prussia gave to Peter the Great in 1717. The panels vanished when the Nazis invaded in 1941 and have never been seen again. The two journalist writers do a great job of covering the history of the room and the consperacy theories that surround. This is a much better read then Da Vinci code and this story is real. The only downfall is there is no satisfying conclusion to this book as the Amber room is still missing!

Great book

This exciting work is my favorite book on the subject of The Amber Room. The research and writing are well-thought out!

My Review - Buy THis Book!

Just bought this book five days ago and I couldn't put it down. If you love mysteries, if you love history and if you love the cat & mouse games of the Cold War you will love this non-fiction book. This book is well researched and worth the money you will pay for it.
