an entertaining and useful resource

Just returned from a week on the islands, and made use of this book as a primary guide. It's very good. It doesn't claim to be more than it is, and serves its readers well. It provides some basic orientation, a smidgeon of history, and a lot of interesting hikes and cycling routes. I can't speak for the climbing routes, as I'm not a climber, but they are there, too. The author clearly loves the islands and has investigated every nook and cranny, and it shows. I recommend it highly.
