I couldn't put the book down the first time I saw it! The photography was beautiful...and the race must have been very exciting. It was fun to travel with this crew through the documentary of their journey. I got to travel the world without ever leaving home. How nice is that? But even if I hadn't read a word, the photography said it all. A must for those who enjoy seeing other countries and cultures.

The Adventure Continues documents a truly miraculous air race across the globe. Stunning photographs and an accompanying journal provide a glimpse into this monumental trek - not only from above but also as the crew roam the streets of the cities of six continents between stages of the race. Having read and purchased many travel and photography books - I can honestly say that The Adventure Continues is unparalleled in its use of photography. Congratulations to the entire team - specifically to Stewart who captured the true essence and excitement of such a journey.

The book follows a group of flyers as they retrace the "Kangaroo Route" (flown from London England to Sydney Australia) in their 1954 Grumman Albatross. The Albatross, a large amphibious aircraft, and several other aircraft retraced the Kangaroo Route in an Air Race to commerate Australia's 100th Birthday. The book begins with a history of the Kangaroo Route. It then follows the Albatross as they ferry the aircraft, first across the United States and then across the Atlantic Ocean, to England. Once in England the Air Race is begun. Along the way, they travel from England to France, then to Greece, through the Middle East, India and Indonesia. After several stops in Australia, they continue on across the South Pacific to New Zealand, the Cook Islands and Tahiti. They even make a stop on Easter Island! From there it is to Peru in South America and north through the Central American countries of Panama and Belize. From there they finally are back in the United States. The photography is spectacular as are the descriptions of the various places the crew visited. Get this book and check it out! You won't be disapointed.
