Book Overview

King Arthur would get advice from his magician, Merlyn, in the mythic stories. The real Arthur (who lived over 500 years before the period of the mythic Arthur) was trained by a Druid bard and poet named Merlyn. The result was an unprecedented period of peace that lasted for twenty years.

In Douglas Monroe's The 21 Lessons of Merlyn, you'll read delightful stories based on the historic Arthur and Merlyn. Each one is followed by lessons...

Really???

This book is great...it's fun, it's interesting and working with the energies presented is exciting and makes me feel adventurous and child-like. I'm not sure why everyone is so upset about pumpkins. Who cares??? If you're looking for a fun read and you are trying to tap into the magic within, (Which kind of seems like the point of ANY magical tradition) then dive in...it's great. If you're concerned about dates and geographical fact and where pumkins originate...or if you're offended because Merlin and Arthur eat corn, then lighten up!!! Geez...I'm kind of amazed at how angry people get about the dumbest stuff. Seriously, get off of your soapbox, smile, and take a deep breath...everything is ok. One more thing...Douglas Monroe studied under Israel Regardie. He was a Magician and Kabbalist. Kabbalists recognize the Male enegy as the fire energy (active) and the Female energy as water energy (receptive). This doesn't make anyone a sexist. However, It does make sense...and I would assume that a group of people as highly spiritually advanced as the druids would understand the different manifestation powers of the sexes and how to work those energies. Anyway...the book is great and Douglas really pulls from a lot of what I consider truth. I highly recommend it.

Learning made FUN with Mythical Lore.

As a Druid on my learning quest, this book is full of information. One who sees past the mythical lore will find useful knowledge towards their spiritual quest. It is up to the reader to believe or disbelieve. The knowledge gained and how you apply it, is in your hands. Search and enjoy!!!!

A book that truly grabs your heart and makes you feel whole.

Despite what many readers have said about this book, it is truly wonderful. People have ragged on it for one purpose and one purpose only, it historical accruacy. I admit, it is inaccurate historically speaking, but that is not the focus of the book. The book delivers magic like you have never seen it before. The stories actually transport you to the place, you assume the role of Arthur, Rexque Futurus. You become lost and enthralled in the work of art Douglas has created. Along with the wonderful stories are many supplemental rituals and things which round out the story. The rituals supplied are powerful enough to make anyone a powerful magician or Druid, if they are practiced. I would reccomend this book to anyone searching for the truth. Happy hunting.
