It's funny how people are so against someone who uses scripture to teach a group that their beliefs contradict the Bible.I guess they want Mormons to continue to live in darkness.I guess they want Mormons to continue to believe that God was once a man and that every man can become a god.I guess they also had a problem when Jesus corrected those whose teachings went against the word of God.If someone is on a path that is leading them off of a cliff and to destruction are we supposed to let them continue on that path or get them on the right path to salvation?
Nothing but the truth...

I am a non-Mormon living in Utah, and this book has been priceless to me. As soon as people find out that I am not Mormon they begin the conversion game, and thanks to this book, I know what to say and when to say it to get them to back off. This book has been such a huge help for me both defending what I beleive and telling people around me why I will NEVER become a Mormon. This is a great book and I would recomend it to anyone that wants a good foundation of the Mormon religion.
Check the temperature to see if the book is hot!

If you want to know if an anti-Mormon book is any good, see what the Mormons are saying about it! The more negative reviews they give it, the more fire the book is stirring up. How do you tell if a reviewer is a Mormon? Check the comments of the other books they review. Remember, the last book you want on helping deceived cult Mormon members get out their cult is one that Mormons endorse! This, clearly, is a good resource! -Merrit
Great "fast course" on Mormon beliefs

Boy, you can really see how the "battle lines" are drawn here. All Mormons rate it a 1. All non-Mormons rate it a 5. That should tell you something. This is a great quick-reference book on Mormonism, yet it still covers the major points. I've read at least 10 Mormon analysis books and am pretty well versed on the subject. This book IS accurate, despite what some might say. But not all Mormons know in detail what their religion teaches, as I've found out first-hand.Despite what some will tell you, Mormons DO believe the Bible to be unreliable. They believe that many "plain and precious things" have been removed by corrupt men and that there are translation errors. The Book of Mormon says this exact thing at least 11 times, by my count. And Joseph Smith (their founder) complained that even the very first word of the Bible was mistranslated (in his King Follett discourse). They do USE the Bible, but to them it's not as trustworthy as the Book of Mormon. But hearing that is distasteful to Christians, so Mormons don't like to mention it to them (or deny it when given the chance). They will agree with the Book of Mormon's statement, however. Who could trust such a book that has been corrupted so?And you really DO need a book to tell you what Mormons believe. They will NOT tell you what they believe because they have different definitions of generally accepted Christian words, so right away we're speaking a different language. Simple words -- like salvation, sin, heaven, eternal life -- have very differnt meanings under Mormonism.Plus, they won't tell you some of their beliefs that sound crazy to Christians until they think you're "ready" for those. Before talking with Mormons (and I encourage you do to so) it is MANDITORY that you do some background reading. Otherwise, you'll be on a completely different page with your discussion. If you aren't up for Ron Rhodes' complete reference tome "Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Mormons," then this is a good, more brief version of that book (I have both). This book strives to teach the 10 most important discussions you should have with Mormons, rather than give you all the depth of his other book. Highly recommended.
Great for Christians to Know

This is a great little handbook for those who want a basic understanding of Mormonism without delving into all the doctines and history. Ron Rhodes gives the reader enough information to respond to a Mormon intelligently. Rhodes presents a straightforward approach that is concise, accurate, and respectful. Having been a devout Mormon at one time, I can say that sincere LDS (Mormons) are wonderful people; they are great neighbors, community-minded, and family-oriented. Most of them have not been able to take an in-depth look at the history and doctrines of the church, as many of the writings by early Mormon leaders are now out-of-print. Current church leaders warn their members against reading material that might "weaken their faith." Church president Gordon Hinckley advised members to "not be counted among those who study themselves out of the church." Since Mormons are taught that the Bible is not "translated correctly," they do not know and understand God's word. Study and knowing God's word (the Bible) can only bring one closer to the truth. Books like Ron Rhodes' are helpful, not only in aiding Christians to share the real Jesus with Mormon friends and neighbors, but also in helping Christians recognize counterfeit gospels.
