Horace 3 as good as Horace 1 and 2.

Holly Keller, That's Mine, Horace! (Greenwillow, 2000) The third Horace adventure is aimed at teaching kids to respect the property of others. Horace finds a truck on the playground after recess that he really likes and swipes it. When its rightful owner tries to claim it, Horace lies about it, then promptly gets ill. Complications, as they say, ensue. This one's interesting because it's not only aimed at showing kids how they should behave, but also giving parents something of an object lesson about how to effectively get kids to admit when they've been lying. Another good Horace book. *** ½
