This book, the fourth in the Bass family series, is very good, just like the others. It focuses on Leisha, Harmon and Amanda's oldest daughter. This girl has issues! She idolizes her father, but doesn't think much of her mom. She also despises her only brother, because she wants her dad to value her as if she was a son. Leisha is sneaky at times, and has a chip on her shoulder. What I like about the story though,is that gradually, she changes and comes to appreciate all that she once misunderstood. This has a lot to do of course, with Kenitay, the handsome half-breed who comes back to her and the Bass family, years after a tragic separation. This story has wonderful characters and Ms. Ransom is not afraid to create characters that are flawed, but still worthy of love --just like real people. I recommend the whole Bass family series.
