A PLANESWALKER NOVEL by MATTHEW WOODRING STOVER I'm a huge MWS fan so I'm in the process of reading all of his books. I used to play MTG about 20 years ago during the SHARDS OF ALARA series which is coincidentally around the time this book covers in the series. Man, it's way better than I expected. A really great character study of The Planeswalker TEZZERET and an epic adventure he has to go through. It brings some really iconic cards to life. The author lets the game inform the story and balances it with his own brand of badass action sequences. Any fan of STOVER knows he's amongst the best to have ever written a fight scene. If you love MTG or are just a fan of Matthew's writing, definitely pick this one up. Far from cheesy, this is epic fantasy done right. Helllll yeah! P.S The Nicol Bolas character in this book is AWESOME! Laughed my ass off
