Global terror intrudes on the workaday world

The author does an excellent job of drawing us into the working world of gas production operations, with understandable explanations of day to day activities and familiar characters with which the reader can identify. But we are not allowed to get too comfortable - there is a murder to solve and plot to unravel! Unfolding the plot a bit at a time through the eyes of various characters gives the reader a perspective that none of them have individually and dangles possibilities that are not resolved to the very (exciting!) end. This was an excellent first novel and provides a sound basis for sequels - I hope to see more of these characters (and this author!).

Terror at Black Canyon

The book captures the reader's attention by exploring a plausible scenario for a terrorist attack on the nation's natural resources. The characters are well drawn based on an intimate knowledge of the oil industry. As a result, the book is hard to put down -- tantalizing the reader on whether or not the attack can be prevented in time. All in all, a good read with a good education on the real oil business thrown in for good measure.

Terror At black Canyon

Author has a unique ability to do detailed character development. One can really visualize the characters. This enhances the plot by enabling one to visualize the action as if watching the plot unfold. It is a fast paced mystery that has you believing you have figured out who the villain is and what the outcome will be. But the surprise twists and turns will fool even the most ardent mystery reader.

An Excellent First Novel

Terror at Black Canyon was a suspenseful and well thought out book. The plot was believable and easy to follow. The characters were well developed; they were relatable and likeable players. There was enough information on the oil industry to allow the reader to understand the goings on without being overwhelmed by technical specifics. It was so well done it made me want to follow the characters into a sequel!
