Tempted in the Night

(Book #3 in the Night Slayer Series)

As far as Jessica Winslow is concerned, the only good vampire is a staked vampire. Ever since a vampire killed her mother when she was only five, Jessica dedicated her life to staking as many vampires as possible. So she journeys to America where a colony of chupacabras lives and, if she has her way, will soon die.

I Love This Series

I thought this book was right up there with the first two. I can't wait for the next. I'm not sure why other reviewers felt Jessica was whiny. I liked both characters, maybe I'm in the minority. But I'm also not too critical of these books.

The best yet!

This is a book you will not want to put down. More charachters, more fun. I can't wait till #4.

Tempted in the Night

I have really been enjoying Robin Popp's series since the beginning. With the third book, she expands her world of vampires and the creatures that create them. She adds depth to the world that makes me want to know more and experience more within it. I am looking forward to the next book with greate anticipation as the world grows. On top of the great work of world building that she is doing, her characters are real to me, and I especially symapthize with the vampire Harris - and understand his connection that he developes with the Jessice and John. Meanwhile, Harris turns Jessica's world on end - since for her - a dead vampire is the only good vampire. And I am happy that John isn't so left the dark finally. I felt so bad for him in the second book. If you haven't read the first two books - read them! And then read this one! I recommend all of them for vampire romance lovers! - or even just romance lovers!

Fantastic read

I loved this story. It's got all the elements of a mystery, adventure, and romance in it, while still being fresh. Even though it's billed as a paranormal romance, it's not written strictly for women, as so many others are. The story is written for anyone to enjoy. Robin has a stong grasp on her characters and narrative. The story moves quickly, and it's hard to put down. I think it's best to start with the first book in this series "Out of the Night", but this book does stand well on its own. Robin's writing style reminds me of James Patterson and Dean Koontz. I think anyone who enjoys romance or suspense novels will love Robin's books. Cathy Grant

exciting paranormal romance

The Winslow family has been vampire slayers for centuries and knows how vampires are created. When a human is bitten by the legendary Chupacabra, the venom from the bite kills the victim and brings him back to life as a vampire. When there is not enough venom in the animal's bite the human becomes a half vampire or changeling with all the advantages of a vampire and very few of the disadvantages. When Jessica Winslow is chasing a vampire in the park she is stopped by Detective John Boehler who thinks she is crazy carrying a sword and intending to use it. He locks her up but before he can get some information from her, Simon Brody, who walked away a free man from a murder trial, is found killed in the park with John's badge near him. Because of the threats he made against Simon, John is suspended. He frees Jessica and takes her to his cousin's home where he admits that he knows the rash of killings of criminals is the work of the vampire. He wants to help them in their fight but first they must stake Simon before he turns; and kills indiscriminately just like he did in life. They fail and he develops an obsession for Jessica, a notion that fills John with fear because he cares deeply for her. When she goes to New Orleans to investigate a house filled with chupacabra, John follows her as does Simon. Robin T. Popp has written an exciting paranormal romance that is full of romance, action, and adventure. The way vampires are created adds another dimension to the vampiric legend and gives readers something new to sink their teeth into. The heroine is stubborn as is the hero and together they make a great pair as they fight evil. Harriet Klausner
