Landmark Text That Brings Temperament To The Forefront

Thomas (along with Chess) conducted this study way back before I was born and published their results to serve as a blueprint on how we consider temperament in infants and toddlers. Three ideas to take from reading this study: 1. All babies are not easy; some are naturally difficult or slow to warm. This is what we must deal with as caregivers...sorry. 2. Some caregivers are better at taking care of some children than others. Why? Because of their "fit". 3. Creating a developmentally appropriate environment is the best way to bridge gaps in culture that may exist in terms of temperament...but nothing is guaranteed. There's a lot more here, so please consider picking up a copy.
