"Couldn't put it down" Either!

It's always high praise when people say they couldn't put a book down. I felt the same way about this beautiful, enchanting tale, that on one level is so straightforward and humble and earthy, while at the same time so deeply connected to the creative energies of life and love. The bond between the characters is downright sacred. Such a great, great book! I went through the other reviews that I saw and "liked" everyone simply was a way of helping raise attention to this book and because I felt the same way they did--I couldn't put the book down and didn't want to!

A beautiful story

I wasn’t sure what exactly this book was about either. It is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read. It is touching and still humorous and exceptionally well written. I think Ms. Rifka is my new favorite author.

Complicated and heartfelt

I had no idea what to expect from this book. I couldn't put it down. It was complicated and heartfelt. I can't stop thinking about it.

Is it possible to be in love with a book? Because I am.

Such a gut wrenching, heartwarming achingly beautiful books I've read in quite a long while.

One of my favorite books in recent memory! I couldn't put it down.

Don't Pass This Up....

I couldn't put this book down. I thought the characters were wonderful and human without the sappiness that sometimes happens. This story is complex and keeps you thinking and involved the whole time you're reading. I hope the author has lots more coming!

Great Novel

I really enjoyed this novel. It was heart-wrenching. Gripping. Touching. I'm not usually fond of reading books in the era it was set in, but it was great. The writing made me feel so much for the characters, and their relationships. And I felt satisfied after finishing it.
