Quick Read

This book was an excellent read. This is the first thing I read by this author, but it will not be the last. Good job!!!

good stuff

Very realistic, powerful. I pride myself in realism and hate when other artists dont. With Teflon, the author stays true to the realisms of street life, and anyone who was been through anything similar will appreciate this book.

teflon did start a little slow, but once you got into the story it was a non-stop page turner. teflon was a true backstabbing, lying, egotistical maniac, and you could not wait to see what he was going to do next or who would be his next victim. this book is up there with sista soljah's "the coldest winter ever" and i loved it.

Cleofis Jackson is a street hustler that has been taught everything he knows about the game from his cousin Bruno. Cleofis learns quickly and soon because he seems to be "untouchable" to the police and feds, his antics earn him the name "teflon". However Cleofis soon allows his jealousy and greed to get the best of him and it begins to affect his relationship with Bruno....leading to a showdown. Cleofis is back and forth in relationships with Natalie, the guard he met on lockdown, and Shawndra, the chick who was down with him before he got locked up. When Shawndra winds up dead, Natalie begins to question if Cleofis is the man she thought he was but the ultimate betrayal is after she sees Cleofis with her daughter and once and for all, she vows to bring down "Teflon". She quietly begins to formulate a plan as rumors begin to fly and soon secret after secret comes about Teflon........from him being a snitch to being in the "closet" and if that's not bad enough, he has been addicted to his own product and it causes his behavior to become even erratic and paranoid. Imagine his shock and surprise when Teflon is brought down and by who. Teflon starts off slowly but quickly builds to a story that will keep you guessing as you never know what's going to happen next. It does jump from past to present and present to past and can be confusing at times but all in all, Teflon makes for an interesting read. I give this book 3.5 stars.
