I think that this is a nice, enjoyable book and great for doing reports on. I think that boy's or girl's would like it but mostly girls. It's kind of funny and really draws you in. It's good for ages 6 and up because it's fun and easy to read!
Is Cricket still the teacher's pet?
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
This book is about a fourth grader named Cricket. Cricket is very smart and has always been the teacher's pet (favorite). She's always the student who gets to deliver a message to the office or be the lavatory captain. But this year, Cricket's teacher is different from the other ones. Her new teacher doesn't have any favorites. She is trying to make sure the teacher knows that she is very lucky to have her in her class. No matter what she tries, the teacher continues her policy of no favoritism. Cricket is already feeling bad enough when a new student comes. At first she thought it was okay, but since Zoe Mitchell is as smart as her, it makes her angry. When the teacher says they need Campbell's soup labels, Cricket thought she would be the first one to get one for the class. Zoe told the teacher in front of the whole class that she would have over a hundred Campbell's labels by the end of the week. The next day Cricket brought one label. On Friday, Zoe brought over 100 labels. This made Cricket even madder. She felt Zoe was the teacher's favorite. Does Cricket win the "contest" to be the teacher's pet? You will find out in this book.
