Stacy is really my favorite character in this series. Even though she's far from a perfect person, she is the most interesting. Maybe it's because she's the most worldly, or because her efforts to keep her emotions in check lead her into more complications than she should have. But for whatever reason, I really felt for her in this installment. The author did an excellent job in describing Stacy's corruption: the reader could see what she couldn't, and also *why* she couldn't. And the scene where she goes back to her dried-up, abandoned sculpture, and salvages it by cutting away all the extraneous stuff, is a wonderful metaphor, and not what you'd normally expect from a serialized teen romance. Bravo, Ms. Blair!
