GREAT FOR REFERECE

This is a great book for reference. This WONDERFUL book is great for new computer owners, it is also good for ones who already know how to use and run Windows 98 to use for reference. The company sure does know what they are talking about when they say VISUALLY, it has GREAT graphics and instructions!!! This is a GREAT book. I would recommend it to any computer user or owner who has Windows 98.

Pictures say 1000 words!

I work in Computer Sales & Consulting. Most of my customers are buying a computer for their first time and need as much help as they can get. I always recommend Teach Yourself Windows 98 Visually. It's understandable and doesn't bore you with a lot of reading. EVERY Customer I've recommended this book to has come back to thank me. Telling me that "it's the best book" and how much it's helped them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

Me, Dad & Mom

When my 80 year old Dad told me that he and Mom were going to "step up" and get a computer, I thought "Great! Now I can email them when they're in Arizona for the winter." The salesman, Ron, at Circuit City in Peoria, did them a great service by selling them a copy of "Teach Yourself Windows98 Visually". When I was down visiting, we started going through the book and I was very impressed how clear it was. I am a network administrator as well as resident instructor for our business and am accustomed to taking "screen shots" (Print Screen key) then pasting them into MSWord and adding instructional text boxes. This book not only does all that BUT MORE! I was so impressed with it, when we got home, I bought one for my family so they could expand their knowledge of Windows98...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

Great series

This book and the series for that matter cuts to the chase and just shows you how to do things. It is very easy to understand with all the pictures and illustrations. I would definitely recommend it!

Sure cure for Windows 98 anxiety

OK, admit it, you threw caution to the winds, decided to get a life, live dangerously, took a dare, made a bet, suffer from insomnia, or simply experienced temporary insanity. Whatever the reason, you showed up at your local computer chain store for their version of a Windows 98 party. For those lost souls who actually went home and installed it the same night, well, check your local on-line self-help group. For the rest of us, the next morning brought sobriety and the terrible realization that now we actually have to install and even worse, begin to use Windows 98. The Maran family must have anticipated this moment (just as they did with Windows 95) and prepared this great, user-friendly survivors manual. "Read Less, Learn More" is their creed and I am eager to embrace their doctrine. The format is attractive, logical, friendly, and contains everything the average home PC user needs to get up and running with Windows 98. This is a book that will hold your hand, and whisper words of encouragement as you navigate the minefields of yet another upgrade. What they did for Windows 95, they have done for Windows 98. Are you eventually going to need that 1000 + page exhaustive reference book? Maybe. But for now, this guide will get you up and clicking and minimize the stress and strain associated with learning yet another upgrade. By the way, what was wrong with 3.1 Windows?
