Tara the Great

With the birth of their twin children, Andru and Ana, Tara and Darius' story continues in the next story Tara the Great. In the third book, All For One, Tara and Darius are still central characters, however the focus has shifted away from them to Andru, Ana and Gilroy, the man who will become Ana's "claim" . First off, I was hesitant to pick up this series because I knew it had two hot button issues that generally turn me right off a book: unfaithful heroes and incest. Readers will want to be aware that this series does contain scenes of incest. So it's the mark of a true storyteller that Ms. O'Clare had me unable to stop turning the pages. Ms. O'Clare skillfully explained the motivations and reasons why the characters do the things they do. And while I might not agree, I still couldn't turn away. NuWorld has it all: romance, action and a futuristic setting that is intriguing to say the least. Kudos to Ms. O'Clare for creating a world where the reader is literally drawn in from the first page. I'll be waiting for the last two books in this series, which I anticipate will be every bit as good as the first four. Melissa reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Tara has endured her claim Darius's infidelity once and he actually lived to tell about it. The discovery that he has a child born while she was held prisoner by the Neurians for six cycles is a betrayal that is too agonizing to endure. Forgiveness will not come easy, if at all. Because of her position with the Runners however, she must find a way to get past her pain and anger to be able to lead her people alongside Darius's against unseen enemies and threats. Darius knows he erred by having the sexual encounter with Tasha. That she became pregnant and gave birth to his child is a fact he regrets. In his mind however, he has needs and Tasha is known to be a loose woman so he feels justified in using her as he did. It's the way it's always been for the Gothman men, besides, Tara was missing, supposedly dead. Neither the Runners nor the Gothman can understand Tara's willingness to negotiate trade rights with the Neurians for the oil they need. After what the Neurians had done to Tara, the clan leaders all felt that declaring war makes more sense. Getting them to see the wisdom of trading with a southern race is going to be a true test of her patience. Once Tara arrives back at the house she shares with her claim, she finds her niece, Syra, in the shed with Torgo, Darius's brother, instead of watching Tara's twin children as she's agreed to do. All of the stress of the meeting and worry over Syra's lack of control where Torgo is concerned doesn't diminish Tara's excitement over the Blood Circle Clan's return. It is the first time she hadn't traveled with her people and she'd worried for the past six cycles until Patha had contacted her letting her know that they would be returning. Her excitement soon wavers under the negative comments of her half-sister, Tasha. Tara wasn't given the chance to greet the clan members since Patha and Darius rushed her back to the house. Once there, she had a visit from the mysterious dog-woman who has helped Tara through many troubles. She's warned that evil has arrived and Tara must stop it. The only evil Tara can think of is Tasha. She heads back to the Blood Circle Clan site to confront Tasha and soon discovers why she was rushed away from the clan members as quickly as possible. Tasha has had a baby, a little boy who is the spitting image of his father - Darius. Tara's rage is uncontrollable and when she's stopped from killing Tasha, she banishes her from the Blood Circle Clan, promising that if she reappears, Tasha will be shot on sight. Are Tasha and her child the evil the dog-woman was referring to, or is there something far more evil threatening them all? TARA THE GREAT is filled with the wonderful characters I adored from THE SAGA BEGINS. Some of them you love and others you just love to hate but all of them are truly memorable. Tara's strength and sense of honor amazes me. You get the sense that there's nothing she can't handle. I can honestly say that I do like Darius. He's
