Witty and fun .......

Tall, Dark & Texan by Annette Broadrick Silhouette Desire # 1261 - January 2000 Man of the Month / Man Talk series Dan just wants to be left alone. He's been betrayed and disappointed for the last time. His condo on the south Texas coast is the perfect retreat. Shannon's had a crush on Dan since he played football with her older brother in high school. Now between jobs, she's looking to fill a vacancy in Dan's company and to maybe get Dan to finally notice her. So she follows him to south Texas and barges in on his solitude. Then the craziness happens ... and after a conk on the head, a fist to the jaw, and a threat of a shotgun, Dan realizes this woman is the kind of trouble he has needed in his life. I don't recall ever reading a Silhouette Desire before this one. What a wonderful read. It was witty and fun, and the love story of Dan and Shannon was really special. I'll be looking for Ms. Broadrick's precursor to this, Lean, Mean and Lonesome; that tells the tale of Mandy and Rafe who are mentioned in this book.

A slice of heaven

Dan Crenshaw is recovering from a kick in the face, and his friend's kid sister -- whom he does not remember -- intends to keep an eye on him and help him through a tough time. Neither of them bargain on what they get... a passionate love between them. This story is nicely woven and easy to read. A pleasant time spent with a book. You'll want to tuck the cover picture under your pillow at night!
