A Sad Book

I think that the story was rather sad, but otherwise a good story. The author did describe what was happening so well, that you could almost see it in your mind. The illustrations were very realistic. The only thing that I didn't like about the illustrations is that they're different from the book's cover, because someone else did the picture on the cover. I would have preferred that the illustrations be done by the same person.

Talk About a Book

Talk About a Family is filled with emotion from the very first page of the book to the last. It is perfect for kids 7 and up because it may help you understand family problems. Starting with the realistic drawing on the first page, I knew this was a five star book. This book has a unique style that gives it an extra burst of flavor. I guarantee this book will be one of the best books you'll ever read.

Family Problems

I believe that Talk About a Family was a good book. I gave this book a five star rating, because the story and the illustrations where very detailed. It was also good because it's like you can actually feel how Genny is feeling. When she finds out what her parents are planning, you can actually feel how upset she is. This is why I liked the book.

Seperation

If I could, I would rate this book a million stars. I thought that it was great! Separation really does happen to families. What I really liked was how the characters expressed themselves. I liked the way the author wrote about the way families change."Somebody was born. Somebody died. Somebody moved in. Somebody moved out - the way her father was going to." "This quote helped me to know what it's like for children whose parents are separating." I would recommend this to someone in third grade with a high reading level or, a fourth grader who likes realistic fiction.

"Talk About a Family" is a book you may like. I loved it, and you probably will, too. One reason I loved it is because it is not a fantasy book, although I do kind of like fantasy books. This book is actually a realistic fiction book. It teaches us that even though something sad can happen, something good WILL happen to make everything better. Here is a passage from the book. "Mr. James was hitting the table softly with his fist, and Genny remembered another time. The time when he had been in bed with a bad pain in his back. Genny could still see the way his fist had looked hitting the blanket over and over in that same soft way. Somethng terrible was going to happen. There was only quiet at the table, and trouble." I picked this because it shows something sad will hapen. Now you should read the book and find out what did happen. I would recommend this book to anyone who has family problems or anyone who enjoys reading. Eloise Greenfield did a great job with her writing. This book is great!
