Look beyond yourself

I thought this was an excellent book for any age level. So often we tend to focus on ourselves and forget that others, especially our pets, have real feelings as well.The characters are very lifelike. Some very humorous and some not. The differences are evident just like with human beings. The idea of helping others and being judged wrongly by others comes through loud and clear. As does the idea of concentrating on the task at hand and doing the best you can at it.My kids loved the story and the simple illustrations, but I would definately say that this is not a story only for children. Adults can come away with some strong moral messages that we tend to forget sometimes in our busy worlds. The simplicity is refreshing and very inspirational.I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

The Power Of Positive Thinking In a Childrens' Book!

I have 3 children and I wanted to begin a new tradition by reading a chapter book together frequently throughout the week. My kids are 13, 11, and 5 years old and so I had to choose a book that would be entertaining not only for those age groups, but for myself too. I was impressed about the very fact that this book was so entertaining. We read through the chapters quickly because we wanted to know what happened next. Anyway, it ended up to be somewhat of a tear-jerker, but I wasn't disappointed because that's how life is filled with ups and downs. The pictures in the book were really creative and the kids were anxious to study the details to match them up with the story. Anyway, I was really happy with the book. I would recommend this story to any family who wants to begin a great family tradition like I have.
