Funny, suspenseful, and fast-paced, The Sisters Grimm continues to charm readers with its outrageous take on familiar fairy tales. The Sisters Grimm series is the best yet for kids. As a parent I read the books along with (or before)my daughter so we could have a discussion point. I could not put it down and I'm anxiously waiting for the next book in the series to be published. I did not know what to expect, but loved every plot twist and fairytale hero or villain in the series. Grandma Grimm and her fiesty sidekicks (Daphne and Sabrina) lead you through many adventures in Tales from the Hood. But don't stop there if this is your first book, go back to Book 1.
Ella adores these books!

Our 11-year old is a big reader and had somehow missed The Sisters Grimm books until recently. When a friend loaned her the first book she was hooked. She zoomed through all the available books and especially enjoyed Book Six: Tales from the Hood. We're spending quite a bit of time talking about the original fairy tale characters vs. the way they are depicted in Sister Grimm books. Ella is waiting with bated breath for the next book in the series - but a bit worried that a movie won't live up to her idea of the imagined world featured in this series.
Great start ot the series

If you haven't read this series and are into mysteries with some connections to fairy tales you know, then this is the series for you. Michael Buckley combines fairy tale lore from different countries and ties them into a detective series. He is descriptive and my 4th graders love these books. There is a waiting list at our school library for these books.

For everyone looking for a good book to read...THIS is it! from the first to the 6th so far every word has kept my attention. the adventure, drama, and even comedy are something children and adults can enjoy. I am 15 years old and still read these. I read clips to my mother and she is rolling laughing by the time I finish. They are simple reads with easy language yet filled with exciting events that will keep you wanting more!! I hear the 7th book isn't coming out until Fall 2009. A bit a wait yes, but SOO worth it!! Can't wait!! P.S. suggested series' "Septimus Heap", "The Spiderwick Chronicles" and "A Series of Unfortunate Event". Check em out!!
