A collection of horror stories, featuring such grisly characters as a vampire, werewolf, and murderous madman. This description may be from another edition of this product.
In the early 90's, Random House took some old comic stories originally published in the 50's and 60's by EC Comics and put them into 5 volumes (single book stories were also later released). The series was Tales from the Crypt, and these books were released when the HBO Tales show was getting to be quite popular. Volume 3 in this series, introduced by the not-so well known Vault Keeper, has to be my favorite, if not the best, in all the volumes. I don't know-this volume seems closer to the television show with it's stories than any of the other volumes-not that they're good too. All the stories contained in this book (and the others) are taken DIRECTLY out of the comics and adapted-none of these stories (save the books that only had one story) were exclusively written for the books. All of the tales are great, and combine horror, suspense, irony, and more, in a terriffic blend. I liked this book so much (and the others) that I made a cardboard cover and binder that contains all 5 volumes so I could emulate the crypt keeper...pretty sad, but you would too if you were a fan of the series, the tv show, or the comic. Get this book, and the others to complete the series.
