Tales and short stories in verse book II: Different poetry word, lovely and emotional words

The short stories in verse that this book shares with the public, and one of which is taken from Arioste, the other from Boccaccio, although in a very different style, are however of the same hand. The author wanted to test which character is the cleanest to rhyme tales. He believed that irregular verses having an air that holds a lot of prose, this way might seem the most natural, and therefore the best. On the other hand, the old language, for things of this nature, has graces that that of our century does not have. The Hundred New News, the old translations of Boccaccio and the Amadis, Rabelais, our old poets provide us with infallible proof of this.
