This is a book of a hundred inspirations, for parents as well as children, providing solid advice on parking lots, to health care; finding a child-friendly restaurant or hotel. This description may be from another edition of this product.
We're currently living in London for four months with a four year old, and we use this book just about everyday. As some of the other reviewers mentioned, it's not great for restaurants or hotels, but is well worth buying just for the comprehensive list of places to visit that kids would enjoy. We found this book much more helpful than others that we purchased. Most other books have too much information and list too many places to visit. This one just listed the major sights to see, but includes some of the lesser known places. We love it, but we're also more interested in taking our child to the National Gallery to see Michaelangelo and to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaurs, then we are in taking our child to Legoland. (And yes four year old children can appreciate Michaelangelo if you explain it to them!)
One of the best guides you will find!

Extremely well written, clear and informative. Having recently returned from London, I warmly recommend this book, as others have done here. Five stars!!!
Best London Tactics
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
Having JUST returned from London with our nine year old, I can safely say that this one book was CRITICAL in our great enjoyment of the trip (AND THE TRIP WAS GREAT!) You will spend no better money in preparation than buying this book. The tactical perspective offered was essential in determining on what to spend our limited time, and even more limited budget. This book excels in the providing of details necessary to make your trip work... web sites, phone numbers, addresses and expenses, along with the most accurate description of the tourist sites anywhere. And, it was by far the most timely and accurate of the books we referenced. Of the 4 books we took, we never found a SINGLE error in its provided info. As a contrast, EVERY other book got something as simple and critical as the Heathrow-Paddington train fare (and whether kids were free) wrong. The book is written in a way that will allow your kids to help in planning activities... it is that kid oriented and detailed. Of the books we took with us, this is the ONLY one we referenced on a daily (actually almost hourly) basis. The best of the lot... DO NOT GO TO LONDON WITH CHILDREN WITHOUT THIS BOOK! Do also consider "London for Families" (Interlink - Lain) for its unique and valuable perspective on strategies for planning your trip. These books are different, and both are essential. Outside of a detailed London map and these two books, you will need nothing else, except lots of money and an umbrella.

A great layout and reference guide, user-friendly, something you will want to carry with you as you travel London daily with the kids. The maps and sections are divided making it simple and easy to follow. A must for the first time traveler to London with kids.!
Take the Kids London

A wonderful and comprehensive book on taking kids to London. It not only highlights places kids want to see, but suggests ways to make "adult-like" places a delight for kids. Good information on hotels for families, restaurants and getting around London.
