Presents body parts of eight animals for the reader to guess what the whole animal looks like. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a WONDERFUL book! It helps children learn parts of the body and also how to recognize different and interesting shapes. The first page shoes the word "tail" next to a picture of a horse's tail. It also shows the word "toes" next to a picture of two pairs of horse's hooves, and "eyes" and "ears" and "nose" next to pictures of those parts of the horse. The child guesses what animal it is, turns the page, and there is a picture of a horse! This "game" continues for: a pig, a mouse, a cat, a dog, a rabbit, an elephant, a bird, and a person. The next page has all the tails, then a page of just the toes, then eyes, then ears, then noses. Next is a two-page spread of a "parade" of the animals, in random order, showing only the body parts, and finally there is a two-page spread showing the parade with everything filled in. By the time the child finishes with this book, not only will he/she be able to identify these animals by just their parts, but will also be reading the words "eyes, ears, nose, tail, toes, noses, and tails". This is a GREAT book!
