Symphony Number 1: From Beyond

Composed in 2005 with a commission from The Much Honoured Baron of Ardgowan, to commemorate his grandfather the Very Reverend Dr Charles W Kerr (1875-1951), Missionary, Minister, 144th Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of the USA. Dr Lindsay Davidson is Court Composer to the Much Honoured Baron of Ardgowan. Under Ardgowan's patronage Lindsay has composed a chamber symphony, a ballet, the world's first 'bagpipe opera' ("Tulsa", to a libretto in Scots by Tom Hubbard) and several collections of bagpipe music, in addition to this symphony. Printed in the traditional small format used for study scores, performance materials can be obtained directly from the composer.
