Men carry wounds a long, hurtful time

In this short, sparse novel set in the north of Sweden, two dying brothers who no longer speak to each other but still live next door to each other, end up revealing the torments of their souls to a woman writer who gets caught in a snow storm at one of the brother's houses and ends up caring for both of them as they approach death. Each brother is very conscious of how the other brother has wronged him in the past and yet both seem quite blind to how their suppressed anger, working its way out in their behavior, ended up slaying the ones they loved most. Very well written.

Wonderful story about solitude and sence of our life

This is story from cool forests in Sweden, where live two brothers, Olof and Hadar. They are dying. Their one sence of rest their life is outlive longer than another brother. There is strange woman, writer of biblic figures. She lives in Hadar's cottage and discovers history of their rivalty. This book is full of scandinavian mysterious feel like movies by I.Bergman and abnormal destinies. Torgny LIndgren is contemporery member of Nobel Prize commitee. Sorry for my english, i'm beginer.
