"Excellent Book"!

Our entire book club (16 people) rated this book a "5" because it was an "excellent" read! The twists & turns in the story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Kimberley White is an extremely talented writer and this books allows you to see that. As the story progresses, it just keeps getting better & better. Read & Learn

As Ms. White says at her book signings, Talya is the girlfriend you just wanna hit! Ms. White does a great job of illustrating the difficulty some women have with leaving an abusive mate. Outsiders, say "Just leave," but too often it isn't that easy. Talya makes some bad choices and is wonderful at avoidance, but she has to pull it together and face the truth before she can rectify her abusive situation. I like that she has to go through some bad things before she gets out of trouble.Meridian is a dream man with serious issues...A little too real?Ms. White gives you the grit, interesting secondary characters and hot love scenes. A great read and good discussion material for book clubs.

I look forward to seeing you again next year.When writing "Sweet Tomorrows" I strived to develop imperfect characters that my readers could identify with. Meridian and Talya live out the drama in their lives in Detroit. Although they both need to grow separately in order to come together, they find their way through a web of troubles to love each other. The subject matter is pretty heavy, making this story a lot different from the romance novels of yesteryear. African-American contemporary romance is exploding with vivid characters and exciting plots. I hope I have done the genre justice.My next novel will deal with an equally controversial subject. Excellent Summer Read

I loved Talya and Meridian. Talk about a dream hunk--buying a condo as a pre-engagement gift! Can't wait for the sequel and the movie.

A sensitive subject in a sensuous romance

Kimberley White's book, Sweet Tomorrows, is a wonderfully written story that incorporates domestic violence with romance. From page one, I was immediately drawn into the story and could not put the book down. The sensitive subject of domestic violence has an impact on everyone--Talya, Jason, Meridian, Jennifer, and others. The emotions are paralyzed, lies are told, truths are hidden all resulting from Talya's experience as an abused woman. Ms. White writes about this subject so well that we understand Talya's behavior and fears. We understand Meridian's concern. Ms. White's characters are believable, the action is paced nicely and brought to a dramatic end, and the love between Meridian and Talya is sensual and erotic. I enjoyed reading this love story and learned a great deal more on the emotional aspect of domestic violence. I look forward to reading more from Ms. White
