excellent traditional Regency......

Synopsis: Lady Beryl Kinnard's sheltered country life never prepared her for a man like Damon Lovell, Marquis of Elston. Only an honourable vow to her sister, combined with Beryl's engagement to another, keep Damon at arms' length. But how long can honor win out against such sweet temptation? Neither man nor miss is prepared for the friendship that develops as they share the many pastoral delights of the Kinnards' country estate. This was a great traditional Regency. I enjoyed that the vast majority of the story was set in the family's country home. This was a "set up" romantic storyline in that the hero was asked to attend the house party and was a long time family friend. A nice and realistic change of pace from the "fall instantly in love across a crowded ballroom" type of story. The story was engaging, sentimental but surprisingly sensuous, though not offensive, and well drawn out through many secondary characters. I plan on reading more of this authors books and I highly recommend Sweet Lavender to any Regency fan. 4.5 stars.
