The End is Near

It's hard to believe that the sweet valley series has been around for over 15 years. There have been sooooo many different characters, friends, places, and spinn off series from SVU to the Elizabeth series, to SVH and SVH Senior Year series. I have to say that although i haven't read every single spinoff in the sweet valley world Francince Pascal has created, from the ones that I have read, I have loved the Senior Year Series the best. It's fun, more realistic I think...espcially the funny dialogue and the new El Carro characters. Anyways, I was really sad to learn that this will be the last book in the Sweet Valley Series. Ok..so for all of you who are reading this, and haven't yet read this final book Sweet 18....I have to say that it was GREAT ! The basic plot is that Jessica is sad and thinks every1 is Abandoining her..es[ecially Liz..who Jess just found out may be leaving to go to Oxford University in London. Elizabeth is basically going crazy with her decision of whether or not she should go to Oxford...or stay here with Jess. Also while both twins are fighting...they must also come up with some specatular way to celebrate their birthdays..which is hte day before graduation and which marks the one year anniversary of the earthquake and Olivia's death. And this leads us to the whole Maria and Ken storyline. Ken obviously is out of it in this last book, as the anniversary of his first love Olivia is fast approaching. Meanwhile Maria is being Maria and stressing over her Valedictorian speech..which funny thing is she ends up losing the day of graduation. She is also jealous that Ken is still obviously not over Olivia and everything. Then there is the whole Tia, Trent, Andy, Dave, and Conner storyline. Andy tia and Conner have been planning this road trip ever since they were young...and which they planned to take after graduating..but tia and andy invite their boyfriends along..becuase they cant bare to be away from eachother..which pisses off Conner. Anyways, seeing how this is the last book in the entire series...everything ends well. Whats so cute is that at the begining of each chapter, Francine writes each of the characters Senior Will's. Like, Jade in her senior Will leaves Jess her ballet shoes, Jeremey breaks at HOJ, and Evan the keys to her heart. Anyways, its really cute cuz it brings together everything thats happened between ALL the characters and the moments they cherished. And for all you LIz and CONNER fans, like me, you will not be dissapointed. Conner leaves Liz, the "poem" in his Senior Will...refering to the poem that Liz first wrote for him in Quigleys class...which they soon after kissed for hte first time. And they have a moment at the end where they slow dance...and conner says something to the effect that there will be many more slow dances in their future. Also this book brings back old characters for like a few lines...such as Enid and Winston Egbert..and even Bruce Patman ! Whats so great about this book is that eve

IT'S OVER!!!!!

I finished this book yesterday and liked it. It was really good, and I loved the double edition part. (although I will admit that I bawled once I finshed - it's over... it's over...) But after reading all the reviews... its sad. This book was a good ending for the senior year books - but NOT for Sweet Valley. I love these books with a passion. They are a huge part of my life (sad, yes) and I don't want to let it go. I've always wondered why they made Senior Year, since we all knew a) Liz and Todd would be together again in the end b) Liz would go to SVU and c) none of the new characters were ever mentioned in a different book series. But SY was awesome like the rest and I admit that it's just as addicting to me as the others. What all loyal fans are wondering, though, is what will happen to the twins after college?? I hope Francine goes up on her consideration of making a Sweet Valley for the new generation. Please just give us a satisfying ending to these books, it can just summarize the rest of their lives in one book, but don't leave us unsatisified. SY is over, SVH is over, SVU is over, etc. But what happens next? Let us life-long fans rest in peace, will ya??Long Live Sweet Valley! We will not forget you...

thanks for the memories

I started reading the Sweet Valley High series before I was even in high school. I continued to read the series through my own high school career. I'm now a Senior in COLLEGE and I'm still reading the books. This final book is a wonderful read. Jessica feels the same aprehension about graduating that I do. It also allows you to revist with old friends Winston Egbert and Enid Rollins. As the twins relieve fond memories; you the reader will too. If you currently are or ever were a Sweet Valley fan buy this book. You won't be dissapointed and you'll cry on graduation day just like I did.

best sweet valley book!!!

This book was sooo good! Finally Winston, Enid, Bruce and even Robin Wilson made it into a senior year book! By the way, this book does sort of lead up into SVU. And yes, I think Liz and Todd do get back together because he asks Liz at graduation (they have to walk together down the aisle) if she wants to go out after graduation. For all those Liz and Conner fans, don't worry because she does slowdance with Conner. She even talks to Jeff. Liz and Jessica fight through most of the book because Jessica feels like 'everyone' is leaving her, with Liz trying to decide whether or not to go to Oxford, Jeremy going to Arizona and Andy going to New York and stuff. Maria has a really hard time with her valedictorian speech and is mad since Liz isn't taking her job as saluvictorian very seriously. But of course everything works out! I don't really want to give anymore away so if you're a sweet valley fan you have to buy this book! It's a great ending to all sweet valley books. Francine Pascal wrote a letter at the end of the book saying that sweet valley (all of it) is finally finished. Oh yeah and the reason the book is a lot bigger than most senior year books and more expensive is because they reprinted 'Double Love', the first ever sweet valley book, along with 'Sweet 18' which is the last sweet valley book ever.

A great ending to Sweet Valley

Sweet 18 is a great book. I cried while reading it, because it had so much nostalgia in its pages. If you are a Sweet Valley fan at all, you really need to purchase this book. I think it was a great idea to package the first and last ever Sweet Valley books together- Sweet 18 and Double Love. It's awesome to see that after twenty years Sweet Valley still has what made it so speacial to begin with. I can't believe this is going to be the last Sweet Valley book ever written. No more rushing to the bookstore every month to buy the latest one. No more skimming the book in the store to sneak peak all of the Elizabeth and Todd moments. ;-) Well, if it had to end (and I wish it didn't) this really is a great book. The light at the end of the tunnel for us lifelong Sweet Valley fans: "Perhaps in a few years, I'll start again with a Sweet Valley for the twenty-first century." - Francine Pascal. I sure hope she does.
