SWAP to Development and Succeed

Personal development is a key element of succeeding in career and business aspirations. Without understanding and driving personal development we cannot improve and take our chosen paths to become a leader in our field. Whilst personal development sounds like an easy subject to master, the truth is that a great number of people fail in their pursuit of succeeding in their career. This failure comes through not having the correct understanding to drive their personal development and become what they wish to be. Personal development is more than just a list of things to achieve and be ticked off; it's actually a way of working and a change in mindset. The SWAP development framework actually came about through my own development. I found others supporting me were using SWOT analysis to build their development plans. Over time I started to see flaws in the SWOT analysis methodology being used in personal development and set about creating a different framework to use for myself which resulted in SWAP. On this journey the SWAP framework has been refined by using in others development through mentoring and managing in my career.
