The Best Book in the Series!!!

Volume 3 of Ceres: Celestial Legend is the best book in the series! This one is the best because it has the saddest storyline of all of the books, and because it has the most intense action. Yuki Urakawa also suffers from the most terrible fate of any character in the series. Unfortunatley, if you haven't read the first two, you shouldn't read this one, cause you'll be lost by page 2.

Even better then FY

Yu Watase is one of the best shojo manga artists out there! Her artwork is beautiful, and bishes galore! Ceres contains the perfect combination of romance, and magic. Fushigi Yugi is also a great manga by watase, check it out ^ ^~MC

Go Yu'hi!!

this series is really cute, aya tells tooya that she misses him and he kinda is like pushing her away, but then we find out it was for her sake, they meet this girl that is a tennyo but was experimented, and yu'hi just gets more jealous by the day, because aya is always after tooya...but then things are turned around when he admits that he LOVES her, and doesn't want to be just friends with her, but before that yu'hi tells aya the truth, that his mother did not die and that she abandoned him, and that no one treated him good, only suzumi's husband did, this part will really catch you! later on suzumi is put into this illusion where she starts to dream about her husband, and does not get out of it and I think ceres trying to try to help her get out of it, I recommend this for ceres fans and beware there some spoilers.....

looking forward to reading more

Although I've never read any of the other volumes in this series, this book really grabbed my attention and got me interested. It helped that there was a short section explaining who all the characters are, as well as a section explaining what's happened in the previous volumes. The storyline was interesting. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next, with the Mikage International story as well as with Aya's relationships (I've never thought romantic storylines were inherently bad, and at least the other storylines are there to provide some balance). In this volume, Aya has to deal with relationship issues with Yuhi as well as Toya. Also, she finds out there's another celestial power nearby. I liked the artowrk, although there was often a tendency, when a person's hair had fallen over one eye, for the somewhat covered eye not to be drawn in any way. It looked kind of odd, like the person was missing an eye. Still, the artwork was very nice. I also like the artist/author's comments - occaisionally, she had little panels on the side where she'd talk about creating Ceres, her own thoughts on how Ceres works (there's a simplistic explantion of genetics and DNA at one point, although it's not much more, and probably less, than what you'd find out in a high school biology class). She sounded like an interesting person to meet.

Yu Watase continues her excellent work on Ceres

Like "Fushigi Yugi", "Ceres: Celestial Legend" is a masterpiece. And like Rumiko Takahashi's "Mermaid Saga", "Ceres" gives us another take on the stories of legendary beings, in this case, angels. And like with Takahashi's mermaids, there is a price to be paid for approaching an angel--and angering her. Beautifully done, "Ceres" is a macabre story about betrayal, hatred, love, and familial relations. Power is sought and protected, but at the lives and emotions of the children of the family. Girls are murdered by their own families when it is discovered that they have the power of the angels, but one girl escapes. Now she is hunted by her relatives, and her friends are in danger. Her twin brother is being set up against her, and the man she loves is one of the ones that has been sent to kill her. Aya Mikage's life has just entered the realm of the bizarre, and she may never recover. The characters are likable, the story is believable, and Watase manages to explain a good portion of the genetic details in a way that I can understand. There are parts that made me scratch my head, but overall she does a good job. The only complaint I have is that the love scenes in her books are rushed. Aya and Toya were practically making love by the second book, and Yuhi goes from 'I REALLY don't want to spend time around her' to 'I love you Aya! Let's go on a date right now!' I had the same problem with how quickly Tamahome and Miaka fell for each other. The characters need to get to know a tad bit more than each others' names before they start planning the wedding.Other than that (very) slight objection, I love the "Ceres" books and am waiting with baited breath for the rest of the books to come out.
